Come and Play afternoon Friday 20^th April 1-3pm. Tea and refreshments will be served. Everyone welcome – if you’re thinking of choosing us as a part of your childcare arrangements then please come along and see what we can offer.  Existing parents and children at the preschool are also welcome, come and chat with the staff about your child’s progress and take a look at their portfolio’s.

Places are available for our Breakfast club. Priced at £3.70 per session including a walking bus to school if applicable.  If you would like to sign your child up for any sessions, please email us at sophie@netherheyfordpreschool.co.uk.

The Preschool will be having a stall at the Garage Sale on Sunday 22^nd April – we are having a clear out of toys and equipment no longer used and intend to buy some scenery, a greengrocers shop and play theatre with the proceeds – come along and support us if you can, you may even bag a bargain or two.

We recently had a collection of unwanted clothing by the Fire Fighters Charity, proceeds are split between the Preschool and this worthy cause.

We are currently planning a Car Boot sale for the near future. It is hoped that we will be organising this at the Playing Fields. Watch this space!

April sees the start of our Rising 5 sessions on a Thursday afternoon, 1pm – 3pm. These sessions are aimed at children starting atBlissSchoolin September. We have lots of activities planned including a visit from our local police officer, the fire brigade, a trip to the ‘Wicked Wildlife’ experience at Everdon and a day trip to Rookery Farm. We will also be doing lots ofForestSchoolactivities in the village as well as visitingBlissSchool.

How can you help our Pre-School?

Helping hands – where those in the community and parents/grandparents/carers/family and friends are welcomed into our setting to help with everything from arts and crafts, gardening, music, reading. No horrid jobs we promise – just lots of fun and very rewarding. We are always looking for volunteers to help in the setting and with our fundraising efforts. Our Preschool is a charity and couldn’t function without help from parents and those in our community so if you have any spare time and feel you would like to help, please contact Sophie Jones on 07984055828 or drop in and introduce yourself.

We are now collecting Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers and Tesco Schools vouchers.  When you’re offered these at the till please say yes and pass these onto the Preschool. We can convert them into much needed equipment for our setting.

As always, freepost envelopes are available in the foyer for recycling ink cartridges & mobile phones.

Preschool Staff and Committee

Breakfast club launched with a special Pancake breakfast on Pancake day.  A big welcome to Emma Toseland who joins us as our Breakfast Club Assistant.  Breakfast club is priced at £3.70 per session including a walking bus to school if applicable.  If you would like to sign your child up for any sessions, please email us at sophie@netherheyfordpreschool.co.uk asap.

The cash back cheques have been arriving this month – so far we’ve received £18 for recycling mobile phones and ink cartridges, £13 for Yellow Moon craft orders and another cheque for £35 is on its way from Easy Fundraising. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through these schemes.

During March we will be heading down to the allotments to do a bit of digging in preparation for the growing season. We will also start planting our seeds in the greenhouse – hopefully we can grow some lovely fruit and veg this year!  We have lots of craft activities planned for Easter too and we will be making plans for our Annual Easter Fun Day.

How can you help our Pre-School?

We are collecting unwanted CD’s & DVD’s through Music Magpie and turning them into funds. (Donations to be received at Pre-School before 30^th March please – no free newspaper CD’s please, they are not accepted). We are also collecting old mobile phones and ink cartridges and will be arranging a clothing collection through the Fire Fighters charity – they pay us per ton of clothing so if you have any unwanted clothing items please drop them off to us.

We are now registered and collecting Petits Filous lids as part of the ‘Pots make Pounds’ scheme. Please rinse the lids before you hand them in!!

The aim of our transition sessions is to provide support and childcare for children whilst they are attending school part-time during the first term. The children attending afternoon session at Bliss can use the Pre-school during the mornings (Monday to Friday). For those attending morning sessions at Bliss, the Pre-school will be open during the afternoons on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Children benefit by being able to get used to attending a full day’s schooling whilst spending part of their day in a familiar setting.

We arrange safe transfer between school and pre-school for your child so there’s no need to worry you simply drop your child at school or pre-school in the morning and collect them from pre-school or school in the afternoon depending on which school sessions your child is allocated.

All transition sessions must be booked in advance. Fees for the sessions are charged at our normal rate of £3.70 per hour and there is a nominal fee for the school transfers of 50p per day.

If your child does not currently attend our pre-school but you are interested in using this service in September – October 2011, please get in touch with us and we will add your child’s name to our ‘Transition sessions to the Bliss school’ list.
